This post is not journalism.
This is a holy crap, we are so lucky post.
I’ve taken my kids to sports at nearly all levels across the country. From low-level college volleyball matches, to postseason NBA games, and everywhere in between. My kids are kind of spoiled in that way. It’s what we do, though — one of the ways we bond.
So please believe me when I say that they/we were blown away at the experience of a night at Children’s Mercy Park to see Sporting KC play.

Located just across the parking lot from one of the best places to take a family dinner in the greater KC Metro area in Legends Outlets in KCK, there’s absolutely no reason to scramble for a bite to eat before you head out for the night.
Of course, this is all to say that you want to go out to eat. If, perhaps, you’re into the concept of tailgating beforehand, there is plenty of free parking closer to the stadium, and the tailgate atmosphere is second to none.
True story, my kids, wife, and I got out of our car on one evening in July, and within, 10 steps, we were handed hot dogs from a tailgate two parking spots over. And once you get to Children’s Mercy, the match-day experience is just beginning, with free family friendly activities all over the concourse.
I guess what I’m saying is that, no matter what your sports preference is around these parts, we’ve got it pretty darn good.
